Welcome to the Smethport Area Junior–Senior High School Library page. We believe that with diligence and access to the right tools, everyone can succeed. Our library/media center staff is happy to help. Be sure to check out all the online resources listed here and on our Follett page, and stop by during study hall to check out books or use the computers.
State-of-the-Art
Our state-of-the-art media center, with multiple computers available for student use, allows Smethport junior high and high schoolers the opportunity to reach into cyberspace for online resources and classroom materials. Students expand their knowledge and increase their awareness of our world as they grow into well-rounded, educated teens and adults.
Booktalk
In the media center, we are proud to offer new, engaging, and informative books to the students and faculty. We are dedicated to finding books enjoyable to all readers. Need a couple of ideas? Just ask.
Check-Out Procedures
Students may visit the library to check out materials anytime during their study hall or scheduled class visit. To visit during study hall, first obtain a blue pass from the librarian (available during homeroom and passing periods) and have it signed by your study hall teacher. To speed check-out, have your student ID handy.
Students may check out books for two weeks and renew as many times as necessary. Bring your student ID and the book to the library circulation desk to renew. Students with overdue materials may not check out new material. Students must return reference material by first period following the day it was checked out.
