Clubs at Smethport

Developing well-rounded individuals involves exposing students to opportunities to learn more about themselves and their community, broaden their world-view, and participate in clubs that excel and highlight their strengths. At Smethport, students can participate in clubs of common interest as well as nationally recognized clubs that offer graduation honors.

National Honor Society

Established over 90 years ago to recognize youth achievement in scholarship, character, leadership, and service, the National Honor Society has an active chapter at Smethport. Each year, faculty members nominate eligible students for admittance and honor them at a special induction ceremony.

Student Council

Student Council members assist Smethport administration in creating a healthy school climate and fostering student interest in school activities. Student Council consists of both junior and senior high representatives who are elected by the student body to voice concerns and encourage self-discipline.

Peer Helpers

Peer helpers organize service activities and promote a bully-free environment. Peer helpers participate in seventh-grade orientation by giving new students tours of our campus and helping them adjust to their first few days at Smethport Area Junior–Senior High.
